Climate Considerations:
Wood naturally undergoes small dimensional changes with variations in humidity. Our products are designed to accommodate these changes. However, extreme environmental conditions can impact wood components. We recommend contacting iCabinets Customer Service for more information regarding dimensional changes in wood and how to mitigate them.
Warped Doors:
Warped doors can result from environmental changes, improper installation, or misadjusted hinges. We require doors to undergo a complete heating and cooling season before considering replacements. The optimal time to assess a door for warping is after a full heating and cooling cycle. Lay the door flat on a surface and measure the gap between the door and the surface. Here are the guidelines for determining if a door is warped based on gap measurements:
- For doors with a height of 12 inches or less, a gap greater than 1/16 inch indicates warping.
- For doors with a height between 13 to 24 inches, a gap greater than 1/8 inch indicates warping.
- Doors with a height ranging from 25 to 41 inches show warping if the gap is greater than 3/16 inch.
Cabinet Wood Species and Finish:
Wood is a natural product with variations in color, texture, and grain. These natural imperfections contribute to its appeal. Additionally, cabinet finishes may vary due to the nature of wood products and application processes.
